Hickory on Willow Lake

A few reasons we cannot recommend this place to friends and family: Communication — little to no communication such as . . . we only received confirmation of our reservation days before check-in and then upon request; also never received check-in instructions. Fortunately, we arrived as the house-keeper was finishing and were able to get in. Sparse — insufficient shampoo for a family of four, we needed to run to the store for soap, lacked supplies like kitchen towels and proper ice-cube trays, could have used a few more chairs in places like bedrooms. Maintenance — shower was in need of simple upgrades, some outdoor furniture was in disrepair and needed replacing. Beds were adequate; but the King bed is actually two Twins shoved together. Washer & Dryer was advertised, but in a space labeled “Employees Only.” Grounds were lovely. We even got a fun visit from a family of goats. But we feel like we paid a Superhost price for Basic accommodations.

Pulling up to the property was magical! The directions provided were super helpful. And the house property were clean, cute and very comfortable. We only spent a day but were able to spend time at the lake and use the dock. Beds were incredibly comfortable and the house was very cool.

Cute cottage on nice grounds with a small lake. Kayaks and life jackets available for use was a big plus
